WHO WE ARE?

Generator HUB

Generator Hub is a project launched at the end of the year 2014 in Chisinau, with the purpose of growth in the IT domain in Moldova, by creating an easy to access coworking space, where startups can obtain experience, advice and mentorship, thus creating a community that operates by constantly exchanging experience, ideas and knowledge.

In addition, the residents of Generator Hub will also benefit from various development programs like events, seminars, workshops, business trainings and other.

Hai Moldova

In 2011 a group of young people, inspired by Let’s Do it World campaign, decided to make Moldova cleaner. During first and second editions (in 2011 and 2012) social movement Hai Moldova convinced more than 200,000 volunteers to take part in National Cleanup Days. During one day, in each year Hai Moldova volunteers collected 15,000 tonnes of garbage from parks, riverbeds and forests of over 800 communities of Moldova.

After 5 years of learning and gaining experience we are now ready and determined to do more than country clean-up.

HOW IT WORKS

Eco-hackathon is a national competition of innovative solutions and functional prototypes
to address the environmental issues we face in Moldova and Chisinau in particular.

The Eco-hackathon is organized by using the concept of gamification
and is split into 4 levels:

Work—
shops

A series of informative, case studying and brainstorming sessions will be organized.

Registra—
tion

Participants will register on the platform and form the teams.

Challen—
ges

The formed teams have a week to work on their solution / prototype.

Presenta—
tion

All teams will present their ideas to the jury. The jury will assign one winning team for each of the five domains based on pre defined evaluation criteria.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR?

Social activists

  • — Do you want to stay in the country and
    make it better?!
  • — Do you want and know how to improve
    Moldova by a model of another more developed country?
  • — Are you interested in resolving environmental issues?
  • — Do you like to work as part of a team?

Specialists

  • — Are you an active member of your professional community?
  • — Do you have good ideas and would you like to promote them to a larger audience?
  • — Do you have some expertise in: environment, agriculture, architecture, urbanism, design, communication (PR) or IT?

Trainers

  • — Do you work as a trainer, professor or consultant?
  • — Are you also preoccupied with environmental issues and urban planning?
  • — Would you like to create trends in your community?
  • — Are you fluent in the social media platforms and tools?

Elaborate and present an innovative and working proposal on efficient and effective organization of an environmental campaign in your city / village to engage in it as much of the population as possible with the potential of the campaign to be scaled up to a national level.

IMPROVING CITY INFRASTRUCTURE

Prepare and present an innovative and working solution for redesigning waste management and energy consumption infrastructure in your city / village and reduce / eliminate waste pollution of natural ecosystems in urban / rural environment.

GREEN PUBLIC SPACES IN CHISINAU

Design and present the planning proposal for the most effective and efficient improvement of 1, 2 or 3 green urban areas in Chisinau. Design and present a working out-of-the-box tool / solution to raise awareness and engage the community in biodiversity conservation in urban / rural areas of Moldova.
